Local SEO for Ibiza Businesses: How to Actually Get Found

26 October 2026 · 6 min read

Nobody searches "marketing agency Ibiza" and reads every website on the island before deciding. They scroll the first page of Google, maybe the map results, and pick from what's actually there. If your business isn't showing up in that first scroll, the quality of your work is irrelevant — you've already lost the enquiry.

Why local SEO matters more here than almost anywhere else

Ibiza's economy is unusually search-driven. Visitors arrive with no prior relationship to local businesses and search "restaurant near me," "social media agency Ibiza," "hotel Ibiza adults only" the moment they need an answer, not weeks in advance. A business with a loyal client base built over years can still lose nearly all of its new enquiries to a competitor who simply shows up first in that search.

Google Business Profile is doing more work than your website

For most local searches, Google shows the map pack — three local results with reviews, hours and photos — before it shows a single website link. We rebuilt a client's Google Business Profile category, services list and description earlier this year, and it moved faster than anything we changed on the actual site. If a Business Profile is unclaimed, incomplete, or hasn't been touched in years, that's the first fix, not the last.

What actually goes into local SEO

Four things, done properly: a title tag and page heading that genuinely say what you do and where, not just a clever tagline; structured data that tells Google explicitly what kind of business you are, what you offer and where you're located, invisible to visitors but read directly by search engines; a consistent name, address and phone number everywhere the business appears online, from directories to social profiles; and content that actually answers what people are searching, not just describes the business in the abstract.

Reviews are the lever most businesses still ignore

A five-star profile with three reviews loses to a 4.6-star profile with eighty, every time. Google weighs review volume and recency almost as heavily as the rating itself, and it's the single most neglected part of local SEO we see across Ibiza businesses, mostly because nobody asks. A simple request sent after a good experience does more for visibility than another month of social posts.

Where a digital marketing specialist actually earns their fee here

Most of this is doable by a business owner directly, slowly, with some patience for Google's own documentation. What a digital marketing specialist actually adds is doing it correctly the first time, and watching what happens after: which pages are actually getting indexed, which searches are already finding the business, and what's worth fixing next. That ongoing read of the data is the part that's genuinely hard to do well from outside the job.

Not showing up when people search for what you do? Let's fix that.
